Vedic and Cultural Centre of Australia
At a Glance — Key Milestones Since 2012
Our Mission
Vedic and Cultural Centre of Australia (VCCA) was established in 2012 to provide the Australian community a facility for educating the principles behind Vedic chanting, Yoga and Meditation through related Vedic and Cultural texts — enabling everyone to practise Yoga and Meditation in a scientific and systematic way. In essence, this translates to conducting regular classes on Veda, cultural texts, Sanskrit, Yoga, Meditation, Classical Music, Classical Dance, and more.
Meditation in its ancient form is called Vedic Meditation — the first style of meditation. The source is the Vedas, a series of texts forming the basis of Indian philosophy, all branches of Yoga, and the science of Ayurvedic medicine. For centuries these disciplines have had an enormous impact on people's health and well-being around the world.
90% of Vedic texts are written in Sanskrit, making Sanskrit language learning equally important for anyone wishing to practise Yoga and Meditation with Vedic background.
Research scholars worldwide have documented the most important outcome of systematic Yoga and Meditation — peacefulness in community and society, reducing violence and nurturing a harmonious world.
